Rabindra Jayanti 2022 will be celebrated on Thursday, 9 May 2022. This is a day, Bengali People around the world celebrate the birthday of Rabindranath Tagore. Rabindranath Tagore was the first Bengali who wins the noble prize in 1913 in the field of literature. He is popular among the Bangladeshi people as well as the people of West Bengal.

Rabindra Jayanti is celebrated to remember the Rabindranath. He was born on 7th May 1861 according to the Gregorian Calendar. This was the 25th Baisakhi of Bengali Calendar. As he was one of the pioneers of Bangla literature, So his birthday is celebrated according to the Bengali Calendar. No other Bengali Poet is as popular as he.

A Short Biography of Rabindranath Tagore

Rabindranath Tagore was born in 1861. He was the 13th children of his Family. Rabi was his nick name. His family was renown at that time. Father Debendranath Tagore was the traveler. His family plays a vital role in literature, classical music as well. He died on 7 August 1941 at the age of 80.

Before his death, He became the Nobel laureate for his awesome creation of Gitanjali in 1913. Thousands of Poem, song, and stories were written by him. He is no more with us but his writing and creation are alive and immortal. Bengali people will never forget his works and name.

Rabindra Jayanti Celebration

As Rabindranath Tagore is popular in both Bengal. So Bangladesh and West Bengal arranged the different socio-cultural organizations arranges different types of programs to remember the Rabindranath Tagore and his works.

In the year 2022, It is the 161st Birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. In Bangladesh, the major program will be arranged by the Chhayanaut for the commemoration of Rabindranath Tagore.

Besides this, Different cultural organizations like Different Zilla Shilpkola Academy arranged a special program on the occasion of Rabindra Jayanti.

Like Previous, West Bengal’s different cultural organizations will also arrange different programs.

Drama: Rabindranath Tagore starts writing drama at the age of 16. He wrote numerous drama which enriches the Bengali Literature. On the occasion of Rabindra Jayanti, the different drama will play.
