
Laylatul Qadr is the most blessed and excellent night for Muslim Ummah. No other Ummah except Prophet Muhammad (SAW)’s Ummah got this opportunity of Laylatul Qadr. In the Holy Quran, it is clearly stated that this night is superior to thousands of month. Allah (SWT) promised to provide special reward on this night, our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) has taught us how to pray “Laylatul Qadr Dua ” during this night. So, Why not we try for the special reward?
Significance of Laylatul Qadr
Allah (SWT) says The Night of Power (Al-Qadr) is better than thousands night (Surah Al-Qadr verse 3). This verse refers that, Those who pray during the night of Laylatul Qadr, Allah give him the special reward. So why don’t we do it? A Hadith narrated by Abu Hurayrah ( Peach Be upon him) Our Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said that,
Whoever spends this night in prayer out of faith and in the hope of reward will be forgiven his previous sins.
From the above statements, it is clear about the importance and significance of Laylatul Qadr. It is an opportunity for the believers to seek the pleasure of Allah. In Al-Quran, a complete Surah Al-Qadr described the significances & virtues of Laylatul Qadr.

Very first verses of Surah Al-Qadr, It is told, we sent down in the night Al-Qadr. Before this post, I have described the Meaning of Qadr. It is the night of Power, Decree. Here the word ‘it’ refers to the Holy Quran. That means Laylatul Qadr is the night when the first verses of the Quran revealed. The revelation of the Holy Quran enhances the dignity of this Night.

Second and Third verses describe the greatness of this night. Here it is told, the night is better than thousands of month. In the last two Verses, Allah (SWT) said, during the night of Laylatul Qadr Angels descend and promote the peace until the morning.
Laylatul Qadr Dua
Laylatul Qadr is the most precious night for Muslim Ummah. A person should perform Ibadah dedicatedly during this night. But there is no specific rules and regulation about how to perform Ibadah during this night. One can do any kind of good deed which is not controversial with Shariah. The following things can be done during this night
- Recitation of the Holy Quran
- Donation
- Nafl Prayers
- Dhikhr etc
