Many events happened in my life long ago. I have forgotten some events. But I translucently remember some. They will remain ever fresh in my memory. My first day at school is one of such events.
I was six years old when I was first admitted to the school. My father taught me seriously at home. My elder brother was then reading in the local school. It was decided that I should go to that school with him. I became a bit nervous at first. It was a new and unknown world to me. I did not know how the students would receive me. I had fear about the teachers. But my elder brother and parents encouraged me. They said that I would get playmates of my age at school. The teachers also were affectionate and sincere. Hearing this, I got over my fear and nervousness.
One fine morning my father took me to school. The school building was very big. I entered the school premises with my father. I saw many boys. Some of them were of my age. The Headmaster knew my father. He received me affectionately. He asked my name and what books I had read at home. Then I found myself fit for class III.
I was then admitted to class III. A bearer took me to class III room. There were many boys of my age there. The class teacher asked my name. He affectionately asked me some questions. Fortunately, I answered these correctly. There were two more periods of work before the Tiffin period. In the meantime, I had talks with a few boys. They received me gladly. During the Tiffin period, I played with the boys. Then I began to love my schoolmates. The school broke up at 2.00 p.m. The boys were going out of the school with hue and cry. It was a new experience for me. I also accompanied them. My father was waiting for me anxiously. He took me home. On our way home I told him about my good impression. He became glad to hear that. A However, my first day at school was an important and memorable day to me. It was the beginning of my new life. I still remember that day with a heavenly pleasure.
